01
Andrea got scammed by an unlicensed builder and called us for help
At that point her family was months and tens of thousands of dollars into the project and there seemed to be no end to issues with the build. We discussed the situation over the phone and scheduled an on-site consultation
02
We accessed the situation during the on-site visit
Andrea had a large custom deck project, it featured two zones, multiple stair runs and had to be properly designed by a licensed builder. During the on-site visit we found multiple gross violations of code, poor craftsmanship, materials that did not match the investment
We even found out that the contactor had multiple situations just like this in the past, a suspended license and no permit was pulled for this build.

03
Proper planning, estimate and recomendations
The more we looked into it, the more difficult the situation seemed, finishing a project like this would require a difficult permit process, extensive structural modifications and fixes, and that is before any finishing work even begins.
But challenges like this are exactly were our expertise and commitment to quality matter, we made the decision to take on the project.
04
Accessing the situation
and obtaining the city permit
The first step of this difficult project was getting a permit issued when a large portion of the work had been done incorrectly, guaranteeing a structural fail within the next year or two.
Our team discussed the possible fixes and consulted a structural engineer
With a concrete plan we contacted the city and went over the situation and our solution
Permit was issued and we began the repair work

05
Fixing the structure of the deck
From minor issues like joists hanging half-an-inch in the air, missing flashing, nails and improper use of framing screws in structural places; to more serious work including rebuilding the steps and stairs, properly attaching a portion of the deck to a brick wall and framing around windows. That is just a portion of the work we had to do to bring this project up to code
06
Installing decking and railings the proper way
We had to take off and properly re-install a lot of the decking, redo the picture frame and fascia and also recommended a better railing product, improving the final result and saving the client money

07
Final Project Completion
After an extensive rebuild we took care of every imperfection, passed the final inspection and took this project from a complete nightmare to a beautiful space Andrea and her family will enjoy for years to come
“We absolutely loved working with this company! Andrei and Nick helped us get out of a tough situation with a previous contractor who had scammed us. They finished our deck in just a couple weeks, brought it up to code, fixed small details to make it better, worked with our inspector, and had a wealth of knowledge on how to build a sturdy, long lasting deck without breaking our budget. They went above and beyond for us and we couldn't be more thankful. HIGHLY recommend!”
